2026 marks a significant milestone for MPCC — our 50th Anniversary. As
we approach this momentous occasion, we’ve begun planning and are
excited to share some initial ideas.
2026: A Year of Celebration
We envision celebrating our anniversary through a series of events and
activities spread throughout the year. Here are a few key highlights:
1. Alumni Reunion
MPCC has profoundly shaped the lives of many, especially our
pioneers and those who served during the 1980s. We want to create a
meaningful space for them to gather, reminisce, and testify to God’s
goodness. This reunion will feature past Vicars, pastors, and leaders,
and will bring back the spirit of the 80s — from attire to home-cooked
food. Our premises, with its timeless architecture, will provide the
perfect backdrop. Tentatively planned for February 2026, we aim to
finalize the date soon.
2. Public Anniversary Dinner
In the tradition of church anniversaries, we’ll host a celebratory dinner
at a restaurant where the entire parish and guests can join in
fellowship. Our bishop, clergy, and diocesan leaders will be invited.
Expect an engaging evening with multimedia presentations and live
performances that tell the story of MPCC’s journey.
3. Carnival and Family Events
To involve our broader community and friends, we’re considering a
variety of family-friendly activities. Picture a vibrant carnival or
physically active events like walks, cycling, or even our own version
of The Amazing Race.
4. Preserving Our History
We are committed to documenting MPCC’s rich heritage. Starting
in January 2025, a dedicated team of staff and lay members will begin
compiling our history — both written and oral. These stories and
testimonies will contribute to our archives and inspire videos, articles,
and digital content that capture our legacy. We’re open to more ideas. We also like to hear from our youth. Share your suggestions with any staff or PCC member, either in person or via
text.
Looking Ahead: Our 10-Year Vision
As we celebrate the past, we also turn our eyes to the future. We aim to
launch a 10-year vision (2026–2036) that guides MPCC through its next
chapter. Planning long-term for a church is challenging, but the process —
filled with prayer, dreaming, and a hunger for God — is just as vital as the
outcome.
2025: A Year of Preparation
Next year will be a crucial season of reflection and renewal. We will convene
Cell and Ministry leaders in small groups to foster deeper bonds, mutual
learning, and prayerful discussions about MPCC’s future.
Stay tuned for more details as the journey unfolds. Our first leadership
gathering on January 18th, 2025, will officially launch this process.
Together, let’s celebrate God’s faithfulness and seek His guidance for the
years to come.
