In and Around

Do you know that you can arrange to use Titus Room for prayer or to have some

quiet moments? We also allow for walk-ins and you can use the room if it is

empty. Contact Ps Emmanuel for the code to the lock. Once inside, you can lock

the door from within for security reasons. The well-furnished room is also great

for small gatherings or meetings.

By early September, work will start on creating a new door opening at the

Communal Hall to link with the patio. This will make the patio area more usable

and extend the space usage for our Comm Hall. The side gate is already

constructed.

Quite a number of people have commented that the carpark area can be dark

and unwelcoming. It can also be a safety issue for those who are hard of seeing.

We are in the process of brightening up the place, especially when there are

events.

We can also look forward better audio when we install the new AV system in

October. Do support and keep our AV team in your prayers and encouragement

as they seek to continually improve and serve the church better for both onsite

and online AV needs.

In September, we will be celebrating the anniversary of the start of our Eleven30

Service. There is much to give thanks to the Lord for the growth and stability of

this new Service. Our goal for an “international” Service remains and we hope to

welcome and sundry to it. As always, there is room for members to serve in this

Service. Contact Ps Jocelyn if you like to help in some way to build up this Service.

We continue with our Forged in Fire sermon series where various life challenges

are addressed. We are privilege to have our former bishop, Rennis Ponniah to

share about his past struggles with depression. That the Lord has used him so

wonderfully in ministry in spite of it all is itself a wonderful testimony to His

grace. Next Sunday, we will also get to hear the testimony of a former clergy who

will share about the work of God’s grace in his life after making some bad moral

choices.

May these testimonies encourage us to see the church as a community where

we do not need to hide our brokenness but instead, a place where we can seek

for help, acceptance and encouragement to follow our Lord Jesus Christ each

step of the way.

Finally, we want to thank all who have served enthusiastically in yesterday’s

National Day event at St Andrew’s Adults Home (SAAC), from running the

programme to serving home-cooked Indian lunch for the caregivers, many who

are from Mizoram. We will be sharing some photos later.
