A Week of 7-11 Prayer

As promised, I will update the church occasionally on our financial situation.

For the first half of the year, we had a surplus of $58k. This is a significant improvement given that we ended the year 2023 with some significant deficit. I want to thank each of you for your faithfulness to tithing and giving. We continue to look to the Lord for His provision as PCC work at ensuring we are in a healthy situation to support the work and mission of the Church.

We are also seeing a slight growth trend in the weekly attendance for our Sunday Services. While numbers and stats do not tell the whole story, they do function as indicators of the life of the church. We know that more than that, it is about how we can help each other to follow the Lord through the changing seasons of our lives.

We are entering into a season of waiting upon the Lord as we reflect on the 5-year plans for MPCC. We are organising a week of “7-11 Prayer” , where we will sign up for one-hour slots to seek the Lord from 7 am to 11 pm at Titus Room.

The 7-11 Prayer Room is a creative prayer space that enables a chain of continuous day and night prayer, bringing us together to seek the presence of God.  This way of praying has been with the Church for many years now, popularise by the 24-7 Prayer Movement. I first experienced it in St Jame’s Church many years ago. It introduced a way of praying which is personal and yet communal.  The approach is creative and allow every individual to share words from the Lord. I can recall how it rejuvenated our prayer life as a church.

New to this way of praying? Do not fret! Whether you are a new or a seasoned Christian, you will be guided along the way.

Being in a Prayer Room can also help us to be still and focus on the Lord. This is something which you will understand better through experience. So please join us! You can sign up for more than one slot if you wish. Couples or ministry leaders can also choose to pray together. May you experience a renewal in your walk with the Lord even as we pray for MPCC.
