A Heart of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a Christian virtue emphasized repeatedly in the Bible. As we

reflect on the blessings of this season, we are filled with gratitude for those

who have served so faithfully during this time.

Let's start by focusing on recent Christmas-related events. We are thankful

for those who served at St. Andrew's Adult Home (SAAH) during the recent

Christmas events. The joy we bring to both the clients and caregivers at the

Home is priceless. The skits, activities, and "home-cooked" meals were all

thoughtfully planned and lovingly prepared. In a world driven by measurable

outcomes, we often focus on results. But what if the Lord is simply calling us

to serve, expecting nothing in return? Our presence, the love of Christ we

share, and the kindness in our hearts truly matter—now and for eternity.

We were also blessed with a wonderful turnout of guests at our Christmas

Service.

Thank you to everyone who invited family and friends, trusting that

they would be blessed and enjoy the celebration. The team worked diligently

on the skit, even with limited preparation time, and the effort put into the

decorations was evident. The Zimrah ministry, though small in number this

season, led us beautifully in worship. We were all deeply encouraged by the

Christmas message.

Our Christmas celebration was made even more special by a delicious, home-

cooked spread prepared by a dedicated team of cooks and bakers. For some,

it was their first time cooking for the Church, but I hope this experience has

encouraged them to continue. Many others stepped up to help in various

ways, ensuring that every person enjoyed the lunch and had meaningful

conversations. From the thoughtfully designed menu to the delightful

cookies, everyone contributed their talents to make the occasion memorable.

Beyond Christmas, our list of thanksgiving grows even longer, and though I

won’t attempt to name every event or individual, I am deeply grateful for each

one of you.

We don’t express our thanks enough. It’s essential to cultivate a spirit of

gratitude—to recognize the gift of the brothers and sisters God has placed in

our lives. A heart of thanksgiving helps us to be truly present in each moment,

appreciating the people around us—our family, our friends.

I thank the Lord for each one of you. I thank Him for calling me to serve at

MPCC, and I thank Him that my name is written in the Book of Life.

As we welcome the new year, let us enter with thanksgiving in our hearts!
